: waves from a thousand miles away :

we are all so used to the city life and easily become disconnected from the natural world. with a little help from robotics and the internet, maybe we can bring a bit of nature into our urban places.

David Bowen has done this wonderful sculpture, Tele-presence Water – currently installed in The National Museum in Wroclaw, Poland. it receives information about the wave patterns in Alaska from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s data buoy station 46246, and then replicates them while suspended above the musem’s floor

i’m loving this idea…. can we have sth like this in hk? everything’s just a bit too commercial here…
